Right after I discovered the picture with exactly 256 distinct shades of grey I wondered what different order I could put these in and what patters I could make with them. Then I thought I could just use the algorithm to draw any 16 x 16 pixel picture.
But how to select which images to draw? I went looking for images, photos and artwork that I found beautiful or interesting. And it was surprisingly hard to come up with 256 images.
In the end I am suprised in how recognisable many of the images still are. Or is that because they are by now so familiar to me?
