Eight portraits of Teddy Quinlivan generated from existing pictures using computer code
Works in m0dels
In the series m0dels I create composite portraits of fashion models from existing images. I use mostly computer code to mix the images, in different ways. I use fashion models because they have recognizable faces, so the manipulation and deformation that results from the composure is traceable. And because they are the standard for beauty in our time, a classic subject for art throughout all ages, which is based on artfully created images, that I expose using their digital building blocks, pixels, bytes, channels. The result is a deconstruction of the image so that it is recognizable as a construct, and a portrait of the particular model which is more complete and essential than the original photographs.
